Rainy Sunday = Monkeys

24 Mar

The rain won this round and I got no beach time this weekend. I did, however, finish those silly monkey paintings I started a thousand years ago.

Also, here is a random doodle.

Green Sheet

Just Woman #599

Just Woman #599

The first drawing of the year… I’ve been so damn busy!

EDIT: I cropped her awkward body out- it was driving me nuts. She is no longer identified by her green sheet, so now she is Woman #599.

Monkeys Making Faces

11 Nov

I’m working on my new decorative painting project. The subject matter is based on a direct request from Shad, who demonstrated the poses that he would like the monkey’s to be in.

Mind you, this is still a work in progress. I will try my best to make these a masterpiece.

Update on my Decorative Art Project

09 Oct

I threw it out. It was terrible.

Instead, I bought these 2 canvases. Although they’re blank, I’ve once again jumped the gun and hung them on the hooks. It will help us (Shad is part of the brainstorming process) visualize what their subject matter should be. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

Art Update

11 Sep

I bought 3 acrylic paints that were on sale for $0.79 each and a paintbrush for $1.66. My current investment in this project is $4.03 plus tax.

It’s not too exciting yet, but I want to show lots of progress shots… I feel like it will be cool. Last update here.

Update #4

These were the only colors available for $0.79, but I think it worked out okay so far.

Yellow Woman – Painting More Skin

03 Sep
Yellow Woman

Yellow Woman

I took another stab at digital skin. I don’t think it turned out as well as my first attempt, which could mean that the the first effort was dumb luck, that I need more practice, or both. Anyway, I think I’ll try a red one next and then try to refine and develop them as a set.

Tea Box

04 Aug

Last month, I painted this tea box for my aunt & uncle… I’m now procrastinating in the job search and current projects, so I am posting pictures of it on this blog.

The box, by the way, was made from scratch by my dad.

I painted this for my dad for a birthday I missed a long time ago. I think I’m all caught up with birthday presents now.

I painted this for my sister, it is a girl (clearly), and that is all I have to say about that.
