And Now for Something Completely Different…

24 Feb

I’m not sure when it clicked, but I’ve come to my senses. A million characters, even if their movements are simple, is too many. The new story:

VELMA is hosting a party. She rushes around trying to get everything ready in time for the guests to arrive. Time passes. She double checks everything, keeping her spirits up. Time passes and no one arrives. She receives a phone call, looks disappointed. Time passes. Finally, there is a knock at the door. It’s her neighbor BORIS! She pulls him inside for the party to start! But, no- Boris is baking this evening and he would just like to borrow some eggs. She gives him some eggs. Time passes. She receives another phone call. She looks disappointed. She sits on the couch. Who needs a stupid party anyway? Time passes. Finally, as the clock shows 3AM, the door bursts open and JOSEF flies in, ready to party! No, says, VELMA. The time has passed. But JOSEF insists. He puts on a party hat, he eats the hors d’oeuvres, he dances. Finally, VELMA relaxes and has fun too. A party is a party if you make it a party.

That’s where I’m at. I used some old names, added some new names, and completely changed the whole premise. Just completely ignore the first run through. I was just joking.

Progress on the Set

22 Feb

I know that it’s been awhile, but I finally opened up this file and gave this scene some love. More to come. Really.

Elmyra

29 Aug

I guess I’m not going to say these models are done… They’re clearly missing eyelashes, and personality, and ears- I haven’t decided on ears yet…

So, I’m just going to post them all quickly and then I will go back clean and sharpen them up when I have them all in the same stage of completion. They do look pretty basic, but I think some selective details and good texturing will bring them all together. Anyway, here is Elmyra. I am combing her and Bella into one character, so she will be the one seducing the Officer.

Amelia

29 Aug

Here is Amelia- she will be dancing in the foreground. Modeling is finished on her. I know she looks pretty simple but that is actually my intention. One character down, 956 to go…

Block/ Layout of the set

15 Aug

I’m not quite done with the layout here, but I’m getting impatient and I want to share my progress. So, here is the main environment in various stages of block modeling with an almost finished character (Amelia) placed for scale, and a glowing fish tank. (I don’t really know/care why it’s glowing at the moment.) I’m going to keep working rather than blogging. Okay, bye.

Goldfish

By the way, here is a goldfish that may or may not play an integral part in the story.

The Party – Exterior Layout

11 Aug

I’ve done the layout for the opening scene where the camera will be pulling up to the house. Please check out the playblast below. I’m also posting a test render. Obviously, it’s nowhere close to having the final geometry in the shot, but I figure if I start working on lighting now, it will look great in the end.

The layout:

That Circus Juggler Chica I’ve been Talking About.

09 Jul

Here are a couple of screen caps of the character that my website has been pointing to for months and months. I am definitely aware of her transvestite-ness, but I have feeling some better texturing, sculpting, and good facial rigging may help in that respect. I stopped working on her awhile ago… but I am posting her here with the hopes that I will be inspired to pick her back up again.
